I started rowing in a more dedicated fashion, and started using the Concept2 Online Logbook about five years ago, after I found I had to stop cycling due to knee damage, an all too common story.
After using tired gym examples, I bought my own Concept2 Indoor Rower and have not looked back from that point. The exercise is great. I have no more knee pain and have far better upper body strength. It's a fantastic cardiovascular workout every time!
The online logbook truly motivates me and the challenges help to refocus training regimes. The logbook also helps me when I travel, as many gyms have Concept2s. I have rowed in Switzerland, Portugal and India. All you need to take is your LogCard!
Rowing on the Concept2 Indoor Rower also led to me joining a local rowing club, The Lower Thames Rowing Club is not a fine boat club but rather uses gigs and skiffs on the tidal River Thames. I now row almost every day and aim for one million metres plus each year. This regular training put me in fine form and helped me prepare for the 2012 Great River Race, where the club won a class and all crews did well.
